Chanel Gommage Microperlé Purete facial scrub

I have the Chanel Gommage Microperlé Purete facial scrub for a while now. Before undergoing microdermabrasion and TCA peelings I was always looking for facial exfoliation gels do get rid of death skin and clogged pores. It turned out to be not an effective method for me, but I still like to use facial scrubs to better clean my face and have light exfoliation. The Chanel Gommage Microperlé purete
is part of the Precision Purete line specially designed for skin with impurities (oily/combination): called deep purifying exfoliating mousse. I bought it in a duty free shop at the airport when I was looking for new products. The products is a little bit expensive 39 euro, but I had a cleanser of the same line at home which I loved. Additionally, there was also 10% extra off the duty free price (which is already -20% regular price).

As with all Chanel products the packaging is just gorgeous, it looks definitely very elegant and beautiful on the dress table. The texture is creamy with small micro pearls, smells nice flowery, typical Chanel. The color is light green just as the packaging. Chanel calls it a mousse but I find it more of a creamy gel.

You have to apply the gel after cleansing, massage it around in a circular motion with some water. I felt the micro pearls rolling on my face during massaging, it feels good like deep cleansing. After 1 minute you can wash it off and complete your regular skincare routine. Chanel advises to use a mask after the scrub, as the skin tends to be dry after exfoliating. I think it depends on your skin type and the serums/moisturizers you use. I don't always do it but I still advise to use a mask after exfoliation, it's like completing a treatment at a salon .)

I have tried many scrubs before, this one is on the gentle side which I really appreciate. I like the way my skin feels afterwards; clean but not striped of moisture. The products didn't break out me out or cause any sensitivity. Just some redness which is normal for my skin, especially after taking a shower.

If you are looking for a facial scrub that is gentle, feels luxury and is effective at removing death skin then this product is worth a try. The Chanel Gommage Microperlé purete is aimed at removing impurities, and you will see an improvement but don’t expect anything drastic, it's more of a scrub than a exfoliation product. Just as with many Chanel products you pay more for the pretty packaging, name and feeling you get when you buy it. It's definitely high quality but you could find something similar for a fraction of the price.
Note: it looks like Chanel discontinued this product but you can get the GOMMAGE MICROPERLÉ ÉCLAT , very similar. You can still find this product on other web shops.

Pros
- smells nice typical Chanel ,
- skin feels clean and smooth
- good scrub, light exfoliation

Cons
- expensive
- no strong exfoliation effect

  1. I prefer chemical exfoliants over physical ones, I find them to be too harsh on my skin.
